Tomb of Agamemnon
moomoonews
WELCOME TO moomoonews COWPEN PAGE
There is a cowtale which since the beginning and for a
long time was only shared by and only told amongst the
cows themselves. The cowtale speaks of the time when
God was still busy creating Heaven and all that is under it.
Because God is God, God created a perfect cow meadow.
After a while, God ended up regretting to have overdone it.
To make amends,God
created moomoocow and stuck
moomoocow in the
cow meadow.

The Tholos of Agamemnon, also known as the Treasury of Atreus is located at the northwest corner of the
Peloponnese near the Corinth Canal.  This large beehive tomb dates back to the Bronze age of 1300-1250 BCE
and was attributed by archeologists during the 19th century to the mythical Atreus and his son Agamemnon
(whose twin brother was Menelaus who was married to Helen) immortalized by Homer in the
Iliad and Odyssey.
The artwork is associated with that of the Minoan and Egygtian styles. This cavernous tomb built by excavating
the inside of a hill remains one the largest of its type in the world.
Palace of the Lion Gate
This marvellous Bronze Age citadel precedes the Archaic and Classical Ages of Greece and is sited on a hill
close to the
Tholos.  It is a fortress and palace that offers those who persisted in reaching the summit a stunning
view of the surrounding countryside.  I wandered onto a side path and this adventure rewarded with the discovery
of the water cistern, a vital installation of every hilltop stronghold.
